  58. Install/Uninstall
  59. ------------------------
  60. To install, copy "ZaFi2.dll" and "ZaFi2_def.fxb" to the "VstPlugins" folder of your host application. 
  61. (for example: "C:/programs/Steinberg/Cubase VST32 5.0/Vstplugins/" )
  62. To uninstall just delete these 2 files.

  66. Quick Tour:
  67. -----------
  68.  
  69. 01) load the plugin in an insert-fx slot in your host-program
  70. 02) open the editor and let the plugin process a sound-source (VST-Instument, Wave-File)
  71. 03) when the "ZaFi2_def.fxb" is present in the same directory where the plugin .dll resides, you can now skip thru those preloaded programs.
  72.     (note: you can also overwrite this .fxb file with an own bank holding your favorite programs that are then loaded at startup !)
  73.     (note2: don't forget to check out the other 3 preset-banks that came with this package)
  74.     (note3: this doesn't work in the DEMO version)
  75. 04) switch off filter2 with the green FILTER2 ON/OFF-BUTTON in the lower right
  76. 05) skip through the filters on filter1 by using the dropdown-menu over the FILTER1 ON/OFF BUTTON 
  77.     and play with the FREQ/RES settings. Also try DRIVE and SHAPE controls.
  78. 06) you can add a lfo to modulate the cutoff by choosing the AMOUNT of lfo-modulation and SPEED
  79. 07) syncing to the hosts bpm works with simply pressing the desired value (16 - 1/32) on the MATRIX-CONTROL
  80.     (note: the SPEED-knob will be updated to the choosen value, so you can use this as a delay-calculator, too :-) )
  81.     (note2: setting the the SYNC-MATRIX to "off" will leave the SPEED setting in the last set position)
  82.     (note3: moving the SPEED-knob will automatically set sync to off)
  83. 08) Change the tempo of your current song, a bpm-synced lfo will automatically detect this and updated the speed (see the SPEED knobs value)
  84.     (note: the sync setting will be saved with the programs, so if you reload the program in a song with higher tempo it will automatically fit)
  85. 09) use the GAIN-knob to give quiet filters (e.g. bp with high reso) extra-makeup before it reaches the sat/dist unit
  86. 10) toggle the second filter on
  87. 11) look at the current ROUTING-SETUP in the middle-section to the right: it should be set to SERIAL
  88.     The incoming signal goes through filter1 then through the sat/dist, after that through the filter2
  89. 12) you should now experiment a little bit in this mode, using different algorithms and filter/cutoff/gain/drive-knobs of filter1 and 2
  90. 13) switch to PARALLEL mode
  91. 14) now the filters are processed parallely with the same input (look at the diagram for the routing and experiment)
  92. 15) switch on the LINK-button and activate the FreeEnv-control in the middle of the plug with the small green switch under it.
  93. 16) This control describes a freq->volume modulation graph for both filters (the red one for filt1 the green for filt2)
  94. 17) you can paint the graph with right/left mousebuttons
  95. 18) now move the CUTOFF-knob of filter1. It will be linked to CUTOFF of filter2. The current frequencey will also be shown in the FreeEnv-control
  96.     (note: a relative offset for filter2 to filter1-freq can be set by adjusting the filt2-freq knob)

  98. 19) filter1-CUTOFF can be controlled in realtime via midi with Mod-Wheel, filter2 via MIDI CC74
  99.     (you will have to set up a midi track for ZapFilter^2 for that)
  100. 20) another very cool feature is to switch the presets via midi-notes on channel 15 (c2 and up).
  101.     (note: You'll feel like daft punk when doing that... )
  102.     (note2: this will also re-sync both lfos)
  103.     (note3: the lfos will also be restarted by switching the SYNC-MATRIX value, so switch this control along with the beat when using live) 
  104. 21) you can record any control via VST-Automation in your host
  105. 22) adjust the output volumes of the different programs with the VOL-knob, which is always applied at last in the routing
  106.
